Telecommunications
The liberalisation of the Irish telecommunications market commenced in December 1998. The delivery of a dynamic and competitive telecommunications market has delivered mixed results although all of the fixed line and mobile operators are in private ownership.
The dominant incumbant fixed line operator has been involved in many battles with the regulator and is the subject of constant complaints from its competitors primarily regarding the issues of local loop unbundling and number portability.
We advise international telecommunications operators and are well positioned to advise new entrants offering effective and comprehensive legal advice to clients in this most competitive and challenging of sectors.
